SAT and ACT Comparison
SAT ACT Concordance Scale
A number of folks ask us if their ACT or new SAT is stronger. Wonder no longer. We’ve got an SAT / ACT Concordance Scale for our readers. Note that this does not include writing scores. We didn’t wish to overwhelm folks with charts so we’ll include writing score conversions in a subsequent post. We know, we know. You’ll be waiting at the edge of your seat. Who isn’t?
Regular readers know that highly selective colleges value the SAT equally to the ACT. They also know that much to the surprise of many folks on the coasts of our country, more students choose to take the ACT than the SAT. As we tell all of our students, if you’re better at the SAT, take the SAT. If you’re better at the ACT, take the ACT. But if you haven’t taken practice tests of both, you have absolutely no way of knowing which test you’re better at and you’re just guessing out of thin air. Do not guess out of thin air when it comes to your SAT or ACT since your score will be so vitally important for college admissions.
